That’s a wrap! Another PCBC is in the books and we thoroughly enjoyed it . There were some thought-provoking and inspiring keynote speakers, some innovative displays on the show floor, and some great opportunities to catch up with friends in the industry. Our own New Business Development Manager, Adam Van Bavel has nothing but great things to say about PCBC 2017. In case you missed the chance to go yourself- we’ve got you covered. Adam answered some questions for us that recap the crowning moments and wow factors of PCBC 2017!
Q: What were the top three highlights of PCBC 2017?
The keynotes were far and away the most impressive and diverse group of people and topics that I’ve witnessed at any conference in any industry.
Everyone at #PCBC2017 – act on the keynote. We’ll all be better for it #Teamwork #Innovation #Potential #LunchWithEnrico @steltzner pic.twitter.com/02qzic4lSl

The people and the vibe. I was able to reconnect with many friends from all over the country while meeting new builders too. The Professional Builder 40 Under 40 showcased many industry leaders of which several are clients and/or friends.

Q: Which session impacted you the most?
The Best Story Wins! In a nutshell. Matthew Luhn, Pixar story teller, had some amazing points to make about the power of storytelling in business, regardless of the industry or company. If you missed this session, you can catch a glimpse of his empowering points by watching his TEDTalk.
IMO life’s greatest gift is emotion. To make people feel + inspire action. Thank you, @MatthewLuhn #PCBC2017 [VIDEO] https://t.co/5GObIK47Qn pic.twitter.com/NVxEVVDpWU

Q: Is there anything new on the horizon for the industry? VR (virtual reality) continues to be a topic of discussion and exciting opportunities, but has yet to be adopted by the majority. ZNE (zero net energy) is a focal point as new homes strive to be more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. While many homes in the world have already achieved this, the US is working aggressively towards the standard. Here’s some additional session info in case you missed out.
Q: What did you learn from PCBC 2017 that we can apply to help make smarter marketing decisions for builders? Adam Steltzner discussed many powerful aspects in his talk that included teamwork, collaboration, curiosity, and more. Having a cohesive team benefits our clients. Being curious allows us to stretch for new uses of technology and best applications to enhance our clients success. Both parties benefit when collaboration occurs as engaged teams are more productive. You can’t know greatness unless you test out your crazy ideas.
